We have just released our new website which not only has loads of information but also has an online store where you can make a purchase from your home or business!

Looking back at 2016 we can say that even though there was record heat and record drought most of our lawns have recovered 100% or close to it. Some will recover in the early spring and some will need some work. The lawns that did the best were mowed high and had a good root system. Lawns mowed short had a shallow root system and did not fare well because the roots were shallow and became "cooked".

Thatch was another issue that caused some damage. Thatch can be caused by over-watering, low pH and over fertilization with synthetic fertilizers. In any case when microbes are eliminated the lawn cannot use the fertilizer. Microbes eat the fertilizer turning it into usable food for the lawn.

Microbes are susceptible to the chlorine in our water and acidity in the soil. We have observed some lawns which were watered every day for 10-15 minutes each time. The lawn was literally growing on the surface of the soil and we could roll it up like a carpet. There are hundreds of websites that give detailed instructions on the proper way to water. Our previous post also covers the topic.
We are also pleased to announce  that beginning in 2017 we will be offering mosquito and spider control. With the spread of infectious viruses it has become increasingly important to control mosquitoes in areas where there is a heavy population.
